X-Scan

X-Scan is a proven 4 sided crosscut scanner which can automatically detect various types of knots, wanes, splits and other major wood defects.

The main advantage of this scanner model is the possibility to scan internal defects using density variation. Due to a higher density, the knots are detected, whatever the wood surface quality. Presence of dirt, dust, grease, water, stain, etc. do not interfere with the detection of knots.

Random width operation: To handle random width boards in the same batch, X-Scan measures the width of the board before scanning it. This enables a fast automatic positionning of the top/bottom and side cameras in real time.

X-Scan features multi-scan technologies, laser profiling, encoder based measurement, Windows environment and built-in network connections. The scanner can be integrated with all new types of optimizing saws. The benefits of the scanner include decreased labor costs, increased yield, consistent throughput and higher flexibility since the cutting / grading rules can be quickly and easily modified.
